Panama City Beach: St. Joe Co. gearing up for development
April 14th, 2010 7:46 AM

The opening date for the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is still on track for the later part of May and the St. Joe Company is gearing up for development.

St. Joe recently announced that the initial 1,000 acres of their commercial industrial park will be called VentureCrossings Enterprise Centre at West Bay. Wow, that a big name, but that’s what they are counting on.

The Panama City News Herald reports:

Initially, St. Joe is likely to be the first company located in VentureCrossings. St. Joe Co. will begin constructing a 50,000-square-foot multi-tenant office building this year and plans to move its headquarters from Jacksonville to the office building by next summer. The company plans to consolidate offices from Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Port St. Joe and South Walton County to Venture Crossings.

VentureCrossings will have about 100 acres for retail, office and hotel developments, about 300 acres for light industrial space and about 600 acres for manufacturing, distribution and logistics companies that seek access to the new airport’s 10,000-foot runway.

Wow is right, I did not realize how far along they were with development in that area. Looks like it is going to be something big!

Tom, That's what they are hoping for. The airport is scheduled to be on line, 5/23 - the first international airport built from the ground up since 9/11. Thanks for stopping by.
