Panama City Lands Additional Jobs - Project Nemo

Our area like many other Florida counties has experienced significant unemployment rates over the last 12+ months. I have frequently stated that we have to curtail the unemployment in order to bring back any stability to our real estate market. Well, it looks like good news is on the horizon.

It’s official: Additional jobs are coming to Panama City. This is hot off the presses as reported in the Panama City News Herald. The new company will bring in 200 jobs in the first 3 years.

The article states: “We are still working out the details, but Florida will be our new corporate headquarters,” said Robert Easter, president of Coast WET (Water Efficient Technologies), which produces water-efficient toilet parts. The company is expected to bring about 100 jobs initially, and 230 within the first three years at an annual salary of about $37,000, plus benefits.

Easter said details regarding the property where Coast will build its facility still needs to be worked out, but an incentive package provided by the state, coupled with potential incentives from the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency, led him to choose Panama City over Corsicana, Texas, and Birmingham, Ala.
