Years ago, the majority of orders came in via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back to the office. Often, in this scenario, it might of taken quite a while to hear back to see if the order could be taken. Things are quite a bit different different now and when an order is placed on the site, I get a e-mail on my phone. I can even log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if I've been able to talk to the occupant.

Gathering the data for an appraisal is a demanding process. We spend a lot of our time gathering both specific information about the subject property and general data about the local market and developing trends. Once again, technology has stepped in to help Browne Appraisal, Inc..

Instead of using paper forms and pencils and then re-keying all the information back at the office, don't be surprised to see me with a tablet PC or collecting data using an application written for my phone that even lets me sketch a floorplan right on the spot. Rather then using that clumsy outdated tape measure, a larger percentage appraisers are adopting accurate laser measuring devices that also help measure hard to access areas.

Report delivery

At a very minimum, you can expect me to deliver your final report electronically as a PDF. Generally our clients are most familiar with receiving PDFs attached to their email. It's much more efficient than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to improve on e-mail with report delivery with this website.

Or have you ever had an attachment blocked because of the file size? We have the technology to overcome those problems, too.  Whenever I send an appraisal, the client gets a link sent off to them to their email to retrieve the PDF. By bypassing email completely we can get around any problems caused by file size. And the best thing is that the file will be hosted on my site for 90 days. So if you lose the file, you can log back into my site and retrieve it again - saving you time, since I won't even need to run back to my computer.
